It seems that the structured silk blouse is everywhere right now and for good reason. This wardrobe staple can be worn with just about everything - over jeans, tucked in or out, with shorts, a skirt, to work, to the bar. It will go everywhere you go. It is a piece you can throw on to look instantly put together. Accessorize this with a brightly colored scarf for extra polish.
Top: Madewell, Epaulet Blouse $110
Bottom, Left to Right: MiH, Safari Blouse $194, (Madewell again), Equipment, Classic Blouse $180
The fancy sweatshirt is back for spring in its short sleeve counterpart. These little basic tops are comfortable, cute, and easy to throw on over jeans, jean shorts, black skinnies - you name it. I like wearing these to class, on the weekend running errands, or to grab drinks with friends on a Sunday night. They also double as a great beach cover up.

Shopbop just sold out of this! Sorry everyone. You can GET IT HERE on the Madewell Website (wooly sweatshirt sweater).
I just happened across this maxi and I think I may have to have it for summer…
Rachel Pally is the queen of comfortable cotton dresses and has mastered the art of the maxi. I love the subtle black stripes on this one and envision myself belting it as pictured here. I like to wear maxis with flats and can wear either my new KORS Zaire Sandals or my Ideelia Dolce Vita’s with this one. Some stacked bracelets and /or summer scarf, and an oversized bag would complete this look perfectly.
I think this dress would be great for casual weekend wear, a BBQ, the 4th of July, and traveling.
Rachel Pally Striped Maxi (Racerback)
Ever since LW posted the Vince cropped pants for her travelling woes, I’ve been eyeing a pair that would be flattering to my legs which is tough because this is where I carry my weight. I refuse to post any of the flare cropped pants, because I don’t understand them; I’m also pretty sure the white cropped pants look is reserved for those who have twiggy long legs. If you’d like us to scour some for you, let us know, but for now I’m being selfish.
AG Ex Boyfriend Cropped Jean - $225
These come in a ton of different washes but the light is pretty cute (Shopbop) and the dark would help make legs look a bit thinner. AG has a ton of cropped jeans options that aren’t cuffed as well…check them out!
Current/Elliot Boyfriend Cropped Jeans – $229
These are exactly what I think of when I think of “boyfriend” jeans. The wedges pictured will give your legs some height to help lengthen them in this slouchier look but throw them on with flip flops to run out somewhere if you feel like it.
Available at Shopbop
7 For All Mankind Cropped Skinny Jeans - $178
A slimmer look but still with the cute cropped roll at the bottom to make these a casual option.
Available at Shopbop
A couple of choices for your colored denim trend from J Brand…the orchid pink J Brand Lowrise Twill Capri in Sweetheart Red (only available at Intermix) for $180 or the bright blue Mid-Rise Skinny Twill Pants in Royal for $176 which are barely cropped but still get classified here are great options for the color blocking trend we love so much. I am also obsessed with the twill fabric that JBrand makes because it is UBER soft.
AG Ex Boyfriend khaki cropped - $99 (On Sale at Blue Heaven Boutique)
These pants are really not me but they look just so comfortable and such a great option for Saturdays doing nothing. Or studying since that’s all we here at PP do on the weekends these days.
Paige Premium Denim Kenya Twill Crop Pants - $158 ($126 on sale at Bloomies)
I’m a huge fan of twill pants and the navy on these adds another +1 to their total score. A plan v neck white t shirt with these would be perfect.
DVF Georginne cropped pants - $285/$265
A dressier option (and something I’ve had my eye on for a while) are these DVF silk cropped pants. I love them and they actually look nice on me which I was shocked by. I am picturing them with nude pumps and a button down for work.
Vince Boyfriend Chino Pants – $195
I think my inner prep came out when I saw these because I’m envisioning them with a navy sweater for summer nights at the beach.
Kate Middleton has inspired me to want some espadrille wedges…which I wasn’t a fan of before but they’re a great option for when you want to wear something to lengthen your leg and want to be comfortable as well (a perfect option for the day after the Wedding Heard ‘Round the World worn with a Zara pleated dress). Hers are from L.K. Bennett but sadly are no longer available. I’m sure more will be coming out soon after The Dutchess has started this trend but here are a few to get you going…
Lanvin Espadrille Wedge - $550
These are the perfect imitators of Kate’s sleek yet comfortable look. We love the patent and the espadrille is a darker color which understates them just a touch. (Steve Madden makes a sort of similar option with a crazy platform but a much lower price -$90- if you’re so inclined)
Sam Edelman Randall - $130
The neutral fabric with the black patent cap toe spruces this up a bit and the espadrille isn’t crazy high to keep you from looking like an 8th grader.
Dolce Vita Jollen - $130
The slingback adds a flirty look and the platform adds some serious height but I like the suede contrast to the braided rope. (Jimmy Choo makes a similar option in leather for about 3x the price)
Toms Canvas Wedge - $68.95
The casual take on this is pretty cute actually. I am not a huge Toms person but these might be a great option for a day wedge!
Exclusive to Nordstrom
Michael Kors Upland - $185
Cute open toe criss-cross option in a black suede. These also come in patent but the muted suede is a softer look.
Available at Zappos
My eyes got distracted by some cute finds on the Cusp sales section this dreary Monday afternoon…
1. Elizabeth and James Linen Pump - $221 (was $295)
The neutral linen will look great with any bright color dress. The platform isn’t too much and the almond toe is so flattering to the leg.
Available at Cusp
2. Rebecca Taylor Leopard Cardigan - $189 (was $315)
I am not a huge animal print fan but the soft pastel of this leopard print cardi is pretyy freaking cute. I could probably wear this to my conservative boring job and not get yelled at. The cutout detail at the neckline is also a cute touch to what would normally be a basic cardi.
Available at Cusp
3. Alexis Hudson Clara Envelope Clutch - $130 (was $195)
This comes in bronze, purple or black sequins but this fun huge clutch would add a lot of spice to my skinny pants for a night out.
Available at Cusp
4. Joie Scallop Tank - $88 (was $148)
This silk tank is perfect to pair with a pencil skirt for work or a pants for going out one night. The print is too cute (LW has it in romper form and I want it) and black & white is always pretty polished.
Available at Cusp
5. Single Contrast Combo Dress - $116 (was $194)
I’ve featured this one before but I love the contrast of the colorblocked on this fun dress for going out. I’d pair this with a fat snakeskin belt and some black platform pumps for the night.
Available at Cusp
A coworker of mine requested some 4th of July dresses that are casual but dressy enough for a family party. They also are not allowed to be crazy expensive (which we admit we’re prone to do.) Everything below is below $150 (except two, one of which is my favorite, of course.)
Michael Stars Pleated Strapless Dress - $128
The handkerchief hemline isn’t my personal choice (I’ve been known to tailor them to be straight) but it adds some shape to a great strapless dress to take you from day to night. Add a black pashmina and wrap around your shoulders to dress it up a bit.
Lilly Pulitzer Kelsi Dress - $148 (in Jumping The Line print)
I love this print. Navy and pink are a favorite summer combo and this can go to casual cocktails or dinner on a Wednesday night.
Jack and Ginger Ruffled Silk Dress - $148
One can never go wrong in navy and this dress can be worn over and over.
JCrew Stripe Blouson Silk Dress - $148
I saw this in the store in pink and it’s super cute. It comes in petite (especially for the person who made this request) and I love how it looks with the cognac belt.
Trouve Knit Back Silk Dress - $98
This comes in gray (shark) or a peachy pink and is a basic that could take you to work as well with a tank underneath.
Suzy Chin Maggy Boutique Ruffle Trim Dress - $158
I saw this dress in red over the weekend and it was too cute! The shoulder baring neckline is flattering and so too is the soft blue color.
Splendid Chambray Stripe Maxi Dress - $121
This just looks so comfy and the baby blue and white stripes are so so sweet.
Lilly Pulitzer Esmeralda - $164
The seersucker matched with the yellow is a perfect match. Love it. This also comes in a navy top with a white skirt embellished with navy detailing.
